I agree with you that the government has no right to stop a person from selling his/her kidneys, but that is an unpopular view.

Here is a group of blog posts by the lead lawyer on IJ’s bone marrow case. Notice in some of the negative comments that the possibility that IJ’s case might lead to the decriminalization of kidney sales is itself listed as a reason to uphold the bone marrow regulation.

Not bone marrow, but kidneys. Why the heck is it illegal to sell your kidney? If it is legal to terminate “your” fetus, why not your kidney? That is probably a really bad comparison, but if someone wants to buy my kidney for $1 million dollars, why can’t I sell it to them?
